MY STORY: What Norwex has done for me Personally

I started writing this post a few months ago, then got side tracked. Being the 1st of January I thought it a fitting time to finish it off as we head into 2022. I'm not just reflecting on the last year but the last 5 and a bit years. It was 12th of September 2016 when I decided to take the leap and join Norwex. During that time I have had many ups and downs, not every month is brilliant but that's ok. The positives far outweigh my few slumps and I'm so glad I joined and happy to say I'm here for the long haul.

Freebies

Lets face it, when I joined I was basically just in it for the freebies! I loved it when they dangled those carrots! Not only did I end up earning a good income and loads of free Norwex products there was always some other kind of incentive to aim for. I still remember less than 2 months in when a Norwex branded Aroma Diffuser arrived, it was perfect timing as I'd just gotten the flu (I think that's the one and only time I've ever had a flu - it certainly wasn't just a head cold). A diffuser wasn't something I would have ever bought, so it was pretty cool to have earned one for free. That was just the beginning, I even started an album on my FB Business page to share just how much FREE STUFF I was getting! I managed to keep that album updated for about a year, constantly adding things as I earnt them. Then I guess I realised I got so much more from Norwex than the "freebies".

Conferences

I recall going to my first conference about 11 months after joining. It was amazing but a little overwhelming. I remember others going for a drink after the day session had ended and before getting ready for dinner. I told them to go on with out me, I just needed to go and lay on the bed and scroll through my phone to have some "quiet time". I'd had such a big day of excitement I was emotionally drained and need to recharge in my own way. I've since been away to many Norwex conferences and love them all (I don't get overwhelmed any more either)! Those three days away of no cooking, cleaning, answering to "Mum" and connecting with other awesome consultants and leaders are a great little holiday. The friendships I've made from attending these events have been wonderful. It's like catching up with old friends as I continue to go back.

FREE Trips

These three trips I earned were all paid for: Travel, Accommodation and the majority of Meals were all included! These three trips happened to fall into that period when our AU/NZ "In-Person" conferences had been cancelled due to Covid, so they really filled the gap and my cup.

Montville - October 2020

So this trip was for reaching that "Red Jacket" Level of leadership and in a non-Covid world it would have meant a trip to Dallas, Texas! Yes that may have been one of the driving forces for my aiming this high! I sooo wanted to check out the EMP factory over there. Never mind, I'm very thankful a safe Qld alternative was offered.

Hamilton Island - March 2021

Hamilton Island was amazing, a great mix of free time, relaxation, some training and lots of idea sharing with fellow leaders. So thankful this awesome company found me. Best job ever! Rewards and recognition = increased confidence and a happy Mum and wife!

Spicers Hidden Vale - April 2021

My third all expenses paid trip in 6 months (all three while pregnant). The food was amazing! They surprised us with a Macrame workshop. Oh and we did do a little bit of training too but it was quite interactive and fun.

Overseas Holidays

When I joined Norwex back in 2016 overseas travel was defiantly not on my radar! But my family and I had our first overseas trip in October 2018: a Cruise around the Mediterranean! I've since earned 3 more FREE overseas trips for myself (Maldives & Vietnam & Fiji). I didn't end up making it to the Maldives unfortunately and Vietnam was cancelled thanks to Covid19. But I did get an $1100 travel voucher in lieu of the Vietnam trip! I used the travel voucher on accommodation and meals for the whole family to celebrate my Husbands 40th Birthday. Waiting to see what happens with the Fiji trip... This year they have an Aussie destination up for grabs which excites me.

Awards & Achievements

I'm just a plain jane, very simple country gal with some admin experience and a few TAFE courses under my belt. I'd never been a sports person and never achieved a trophy before joining Norwex. So receiving these awards and having something to put in the glass display cabinet at home really boosted my confidence in life in general. So much so I finally felt good enough in my own skin to go back for baby number three.

Featured in the Catalogue

I was very honoured to be featured in the August 2018 Catalogue! Like OMG I'm almost famous LOL! Was pretty cool being able to hand out catalogues at that time.

Field Advisory Council Member

I nominated my self two years in a row and was over the moon when my second application was successful! Unfortunately due to Covid all our meetings were held via Zoom and I didn't get to visit Home Office in Brisbane, but we still got to have our say, test out the new products before everyone else and build relationships with other leaders and home office staff.

The purpose of the Australia and New Zealand Field Advisory Council is to provide advice and feedback to the Norwex Home Office on ideas, projects and programs that affect the Norwex Australia and New Zealand sales field.

The Australian New Zealand Field Advisory Council is comprised of five elected Leaders who are at or above an Executive Sales Leader level - two selected by Norwex Home Office and three elected by votes from Sales Leaders and above. Any Senior Vice President Sales Leaders will also be automatically elected to the Council.

To be eligible to be elected to serve on the Council, you must be a Consultant in good standing, have submitted a minimum of twenty-four (24) parties and added a minimum of six (6) personal New Consultants in the last calendar year.

Leadership Role

When I joined Norwex I had no intention of ever building a team and inviting others to join me on this journey. I never dreamed I'd promote to Team Coordinator or Sales Leader and certainly not Executive Sales Leader, but I've achieved all three quite easily.

The "Red Jacket" Senior Executive Sales Leader Level was one I also managed to reach in August 2020. Unfortunately in November 2021 I was demoted back to Executive Sales Leader as I was unable to maintain this very high level. But the time I had at this level was AMAZING and I'm so grateful for my awesome team who pulled together and got me there! You never know, maybe one day I will get back up there again... I really do love helping new team members achieve their goals.

WOW, this Blog Post is perhaps a little longer than I anticipated. I hope you have enjoyed reflecting on the last 5 years with me.
